Denver, PA – One of Central Pennsylvania’s finest “410” sprint car pilots will make the long tow west to the Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio this Friday and Saturday, September 13th & 14th; planning to take part in the 2013 edition of the “Jim Ford Classic” featuring the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions. “Super” Alan Krimes, a five-time winner in Central Pennsylvania in 2013, will make the seven-hour trek west to the Fremont Speedway from Denver, Pennsylvania this weekend with full intentions of earning the $10,000 UNOH All Star main event prize on Saturday evening. Krimes is a recent UNOH All Star main event winner in 2013 at the Lincoln Speedway (PA), and is certainly no stranger to high pressure and high-dollar purses.
The 6th Annual “Jim Ford Classic” weekend with the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions kicks-off on Friday evening, September 13th with a full program; highlighted with a $3,000-to-win main event for the “410” sprint cars. Krimes, who calls Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway “home” on a regular basis, will battle the best of not only Ohio this weekend, but also the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions; which includes former national champions”, Tim Shaffer and Dale Blaney; and three-time UNOH All Star winner in 2013, Danny Holtgraver. As an added bonus, the “Jim Ford Classic” weekend will also feature a $5,000 point fund for the top-ten drivers after two full days of competition.
The 6th Annual “Jim Ford Classic” at the Fremont Speedway will conclude on Saturday evening, September 14th; highlighted with the fifty-lap (50), $10,000-to-win main event. Tim Shaffer is the defending “Jim Ford Classic” winner. Alan Krimes, who pilots the Krimes Racing Engines, Mike’s Powerwash, no. 87 “410” sprint car, has yet to visit the Fremont Speedway in 2013, but plans to make his first visit most memorable. “Super” Alan Krimes has been ultra-consistent in 2013, and is one of the winningest “410′ sprint car drivers in Central Pennsylvania. Krimes hopes to put his consistency and recent successes to good use this weekend when his “87” team invades the “Buckeye State.’
Alan Krimes owns five (5) victories thus far in 2013 during “410” sprint car competition; three (3) at the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania; and two (2) at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The five (5) total victories, along with countless top-five and top-ten finishes, plants Krimes among the top-five drivers in the current Central PA sprint car standings. The Denver, Pennsylvania native recently wrapped-up his 2013 Lincoln Speedway campaign by finishing third (3rd) in the final “410” sprint car standings; on the strength of three (3) main event wins, twenty-two (22) top-ten finishes and sixteen (16) top-five appearances.
