DENVER, Pa. (June 2, 2016) – Central Pennsylvania standout Alan Krimes will roll into the month of June on track for a championship, a second in three years. The Denver, Pennsylvania, native is currently on top of the 410 sprint car standings at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, earning eight top-ten finishes, including four top-fives, during the early stages of the season, keeping his championship margin at 70 markers heading into the June 4 program. Alan Krimes was the 2014 Lincoln Speedway track champion.
“Things have been going pretty well for us this year, hard to find complaints when on top of the standings,” explained Alan Krimes. “Our job now is to stay consistent and work for wins. We don’t want to apply any unnecessary pressure on ourselves. We’ll keep our focus and game plan the same each and every weekend and hopefully the results will come.”
Recent championship-worthy results for Alan Krimes includes finishing seventh during the non-stop, $5,000-to-win, Hilly Rife Memorial at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, May 28, as well as finishing fifth during the $5,000-to-win, BAPS Night Program in the Pigeon Hills on Saturday, May 14.
The pilot of the familiar Wayne Corini, Krimes Racing Engines, VRP Shocks, Abe Service Company, Glick’s Auto Body & Towing, Roadrunner Race Fuels, No. 87 will return to the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway on several occasions during the month of June, highlighted with the Dirt Classic Showcase on June 11, as well as the $7,000-to-win, 17th annual Kevin Gobrecht Memorial during Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek on June 25. Points competition will resume Saturday night, June 4.
“We have a lot of big programs coming up this month, so that’s something to keep excited about,” said Alan Krimes. “I think we have a great opportunity to score a few big wins this month. I just want to thank everyone for their continued support and effort. We have a lot of people who dedicate a lot of time to this race team. It feels good to have that level of support. We’re excited to see how June unfolds.”
